چکیده

The pyrolysis of the biomass Agave salmiana bagasse (10 K/min, ambient to 700 °C) was investigated in absence and presence Aerosil MCM-41 catalysts. synthetized using a typical hydrothermal method characterized with XRD, SAXS, SEM, TEM, nitrogen physisorption confirm unidimensional 3.4 nm diameter pores. Pyrolysis products were monitored online mass spectrometry (MS), analyzing production 29 different compounds, clustered several groups, namely, olefins (ethene, 2-butene, 1,3-butadiene), oxygenated compounds (methanol, 2-methylbutanol, acetic acid), furan derivatives (furan, furfural, 2-methylfurane), aromatic (BTEX). Complete decomposition cellulose hemicellulose content observed at temperatures below 400 °C. Lignin completed by 550 Catalyst-assisted showed reduced acid methanol formation MCM-41. use does not affect overall olefins, yet increases benzene yield, while reducing phenol, furan, derivatives. With MCM-41, there is increased derivatives, cyclohexanone BTEX, phenol decreased. At °C, product pattern comparable non-catalytic pyrolysis.

Catalytic pyrolysis of waste rice husk over mesoporous materials

Catalytic fast pyrolysis of waste rice husk was carried out using pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry [Py-GC/MS]. Meso-MFI zeolite [Meso-MFI] was used as the catalyst. In addition, a 0.5-wt.% platinum [Pt] was ion-exchanged into Meso-MFI to examine the effect of Pt addition. Using a catalytic upgrading method, the activities of the catalysts were evaluated in terms of product composi...

Catalytic decomposition of CF4 over copper promoted mesoporous catalysts

A series of mesoporous catalysts (MCM-41) promoted by copper oxide nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method and tested for the decomposition of carbon tetrafluoride (CF4). The addition of copper oxide nanoparticles to MCM-41 led to an improvement in the catalytic activity for CF4 decomposition. The catalyst was the most active around 5 wt% copper oxide added to MCM-41. Methods...

Olefin production from catalytic cracking of light fuel oil over different additives

The catalytic cracking of a fuel oil over fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst has been investigated applying different additives. Catalyst mixtures consisting of a equilibrium FCC catalyst (E-Cat) blended with ZSM-5, MCM-41 and Mordenite additives were examined at the additive levels of 25 wt.%. The catalytic performance of the matrix was studied in a fixed bed micro-activity test unit (MAT...

Phillips catalysts synthesized over various silica supports: Characterization and their catalytic evaluation in ethylene polymerization

Ethylene polymerization was carried out using Phillips chromium catalyst based on silica supports such as silica aerogel, SiO2 (Grace 643), and titanium modified SiO2 (G 643), and the results were compared with other catalysts based on SiO2 (Aldrich), SBA-15(Hex), SBA-15(Sp) and MCM-41. A combination of TGA, DSC, XRD, nitrogen adsorption, SEM, ICP, FTIR and other analyses were used to character...
